Dilettante here. I've been interested in @ChasesCreations's "Letter Critters" series meant to teach the English alphabet and phonics. I've come up with a few stories that can help learners memorise sounds from the more unusual combinations of letters. Silent Letters "kn" - K loves to play kickball, and she loves it more when she can play it with her friends. However, when she stands in front of N, he says "no" to her request, which makes K sad to the point where she does not want to speak. Therefore, when K stands before N, N is the only one making his sound - like in knock, knife and knave. "mb" - M makes marvelous meals for his friends and B loves all things blue. The best thing for her? A blueberry muffin! B enjoys her muffin so much that she's too busy eating to make her sound. All that's left is M making his sound - like in comb, lamb and thumb. Synopsis Jewel Land has been long seen as a haven for magic, sparkles and virtues. As much as everyone loves to use their magic as the next person, someone thought that there was something wrong - all the magic the Jewelpets used would involve weird and strange occurences that either embarrassed their partners or merely confused the enemy. They decided it was time for the Jewelpets to learn how to really fight. Thankfully, an ancient form of magic that also shows no mercy to foes has been resurrected - Vector Magic.
